The Arsenal loanee is thriving thanks to his temporary manager
Matteo Guendouzi attracted mostly negative headlines during his time at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.
The Frenchman is brash and it has affected his relationship with his Arsenal manager.
He has now spent the last two seasons on loan and is having a very positive year at Olympique de Marseille.
His move to Ligue 1 was a success and should naturally earn him a return to the Arsenal first team at the end of this season.
However, that’s highly unlikely to happen given that he and Arteta have almost never been on good terms at the Emirates.
But what is the secret of his return to form in France with Marseille?
L’Equipe via Sport Witness credit their current interim manager, Jorge Sampaoli.
He claims the two have a great relationship and the gaffer trusts him, which is one of the reasons he’s been almost always at Marseille this season.
Just the opinion of Arsenal
To be fair, Arteta has argued with many players during his short stint as Arsenal manager.
Although it’s not something very common, it doesn’t mean the Spaniard is doing anything wrong either.
He inherited a rotten culture in the Emirates and had to change it. To achieve this, heads will roll and that is what happened.
As long as he gets results with the players he guards, we won’t care much about his falling out with the players.
