Press release | June 28, 2022

MX Sports Pro Racing Scouting Moto Combine is about to enter its second season of lead development at RedBud. The Rider Coach lineup includes Michael Byrne, Broc Glover, Chad Reed and Jeff Stanton.

Morgantown, WV (June 28, 2022) – With the fifth round of the 50th anniversary Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, just days away, MX Sports Pro Racing has announced its lineup of rider trainers and participants selected for the first gathering of the Scouting Moto Combine 2022, presented by US Air Force Special Warfare. Michigan’s famed RedBud MX will serve as the host site for the first combine of the summer on Friday, July 1, which will be run in conjunction with KTM RedBud National.

“After an incredibly successful start to the program last summer, anticipation for the return of Scouting Moto Combine has been extremely high, especially with the expansion to include RedBud as our launch rally,” said Tim Cotter, director of the event, MX Sports Pro Races. “The Combine is already a proven success, as several of our entrants from last season have either turned pro or are about to embark on their professional journeys. Perhaps no more notable than Ryder DiFrancesco, who is remained unbeaten in four motos last year and will make his pro debut at RedBud with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki.

“The graduation of some of our former participants, the rise of returning runners like Chance Hymas, and the debut of athletes like Haiden Deegan speaks to the purpose of the combine. With the commitment of our participating manufacturers, this platform serves to showcase the most promising talent in our sport and prepare them for the future, and we simply look forward to supporting another group of aspiring runners this weekend and beyond.

A total of 24 of the nation’s top Class A and B racers, handpicked by each respective manufacturer, will make up the RedBud gathering, which will include both a classroom-style educational session in addition to a pair of 25 minutes-plus-two-turn motorcycles. These prospects will be separated into four pools, where they will be assigned to one of four highly regarded former pros who will make up the combined coaching staff, led by returning coaches six-time AMA National Champion Broc Glover and Chad Reed. , the 2009 Pro Motocross 450 class champion who was also the winning trainer at the combine’s inaugural rally last August. Rounding out the RedBud trainers are perennial contender Michael Byrne and three-time AMA National Champion Jeff Stanton, both of whom will be joining the combine for the first time. In total, the line of trainers includes 10 Pro Motocross titles and 66 victories, and the invaluable mentorship provided by these proverbial legends of the sport is one of the most critical aspects of Scouting Moto Combine. This unprecedented access to some of America’s most experienced and successful motocross athletes will provide insight into life at the professional level, especially on the circuit, where each coach’s guidance will focus on facilitating prospects’ success in motorcycles.

The combine schedule will mimic that of a Pro Motocross National, establishing a professional atmosphere that includes practices, staging, podium interviews and post-race media sessions.
