EXPLORiT, a center combining science, business and leisure
The challenge for EXPLORiT is to combine business and leisure in Yverdon-les-Bains.
This “hybrid” activity center covers 14,000 square meters in the center of Y-Park, the Cité Thermale science and technology park. Due to the Covid period, it quietly opened its doors at the start of the year.
The complex is multifunctional. It offers a variety of shops and services, such as restaurants, a supermarket and health and wellness facilities. About forty panels were announced on the site.
In its business part, EXPLORiT offers a coworking space with open offices and a prototyping workshop. “We are focusing on the needs of Y-Park and the region”, explains Elodie Vaquet, marketing and communication specialist for the place. A confirmation confirmed by the occupancy rate which already exceeds 90%.

EXPLORiT relies on a wide range of leisure activities to make the campus profitable. Edutainment Spaces offers families, on two floors, workshops and exhibits on space exploration, science and ecology. There are also five cinemas and a stage where concerts can be organized. From September, a space dedicated to games and competitions in virtual reality will also arrive. e-sport. “We plan to attract 100,000 visitors per year to our leisure area, and around 500,000 visitors to the entire building,” explains Elodie Vaquet.
a first and foremost personal project
Sandrine and Jean-Christophe Gostanian are the creators of EXPLORiT. These Marseille entrepreneurs have been based in Zurich for many years. He is also the founder of KinderCity in Volketswil (ZH). The couple and several partners have invested around 80 million francs. A small fraction is the responsibility of the canton of Y-Parc and Vaud. The latter exclusively finances educational exhibitions. The City of Yverdon-les-Bains also donated a wind tree which supplies energy to certain offices. / dsa
